Scrap Attack Scrapbooking May Reveal!

This month I worked with the new Madeline collection by Prima Marketing. I adore the colors and patterns of this line but what I loved most was how easy it was to coordinate with other collections. This line worked seamlessly with elements from the Lily Bee Design Picket Fence & Happily Lost collections, Crate Paper Portrait & even Webster's Pages!

Workshop Wednsday "Nooks and Crannies"

We love learning new things so join us for Workshop Wednesdays where we’ll show you tips, techniques or tutorials to help you grow as scrapbookers. Our creative Design Team will teach you something fun, exciting or maybe it’s just a refresher for you. Regardless, make sure and tune in every other Wednesday to see what’s on the curriculum for the day.

This week let's talk "nooks and crannies". We all love the adorable little envelopes everyone is making now but let’s be honest...what can you really put in there? Let me show you a few quick and super easy solutions to hold all your beloved notes, tags and journaling cards.

"Nooks and Crannies"
Supplies:
Scrap Paper
Adhesive
Envelopes
Packaging
Embellishments
Ribbons

From scrap to stash...stash holder that is!

1. Cut your scrap paper 1 inch wider and longer than your desired holder.
2. Fold 1/2 on either side and tuck the corners in the bottom to make a fold, because of the tucked corners your bottom fold will take roughly 1 inch of paper (if it is to long cut from top.)
3. Put your adhesive along the bottom fold, and sides.
4. Place on page & embellish as desired.

Reduce, Re-use, and Recycle that Packaging!
Photobucket

1. Take a piece of scrap paper and cut it down to fit the entire package with flap open.
2. Adhere the scrap paper to the packaging.
3. Fold the flap back over, it should still be sticky enough to close (you can cut this off if you like however it would be perfect for things like baby hair, concert bracelets, baby shells, ect.)
4. Embellish as desired.

Nobody puts baby in the corner...well why not?

Photobucket

1. Take an envelope and cut it at an angle to your desired size.
2. Cover envelope corner with scrap paper.
3. Embellish as desired.

Use as a holder or unique photo corner!
*You can also cut envelope in half to make a similar holder like the first to examples.

Thanks for tuning in, I hope you learned something fun and refreshing! If you decide to try any of these techniques please share with us by uploading a link to your creation to the {SAS}SY Blog!

A few refreshing changes from {SAS}!

Lauri :"Well you may have noticed a few changes around the site...it has been a very hard decision for me, I have been contemplating it for over 6 months and after evaluating the participation of the message board I have decided to close the message board/forum. After nearly 4 years of offering the message board/forum the following and participation never really took off like expected, which is unfortunate.

It’s not goodbye though...the site, online store, Facebook, etc will remain...nothing is changing there. We will continue to do challenges, give tips and techniques, etc right here on our blog/Facebook. So if you aren’t currently following our blog please make sure and add it to your Google Reader or signup for daily emails when new posts are made via the “FeedBurner” application on the blog (on the bottom right column, just above the “archives” section – it reads {SAS}sy Updates.)

Here is a quick recap of what to expect going forward:

Every Monday: Must have Mondays where we’ll showcase ‘must have’ items and close-ups of these cool products. If you are like me, sometimes seeing them in use is all it takes to make it a “must have” item.

Every other Wednesday: Workshop Wednesdays where we’ll show you tips, techniques or tutorials to help you grow as scrapbookers.

Every Friday: CHALLENGES! We’ll debut a new challenge every Friday and you will have 1 week to get it completed and upload to the blog. Deadline for entry is every Friday at midnight PST (3 am EST.) On Saturday’s we will pull a random winner who will earn a coupon for an extra 10% off your total order in the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking store. (With our 10% off everyday prices, this coupon gives your total order 20% off MSRP!) By pulling a weekly winner we can offer 4-5 chances to win each month instead of just 1 winner.

Change is good and I believe things happen for a reason! By making these changes I think we can make it enjoyable for everyone and really get to the heart of why we scrapbook…to preserve the memories and stories of our lives. As this is new we will always leave the door open to add fun things like contests, guest design team opportunities, etc. Joining us on this journey are 2 of our recent Design Team members,Dana Tatar and Adrienne Pierce, who have agreed to join us as we embark on these new changes! I am thrilled to be working with them again and can't wait to see how they can inspire us all.

So please join us & embrace our changes and thank you for all you have done for us over the last 4 years! We hope you can…"Be INSPIRED, Be CHALLENGED, be {SAS}SY" This is not your average scrapbook blog...our girls are {SAS}SY!"

I am completly honored to have been asked to remain on the desing team with Dana Tatar! {SAS}sy has been like a second home to me and I hope to continue to inspire all the lovely ladies I have come to know as well as make new {SAS}sy friends!

So Innocent - Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

Who says there are rules in scrapbooking? Our Scrapbook Play Challenges will help you “cut loose” and open your eyes to all the rules you follow, consciously or not.

This weeks Scrapbooking Play challenge at {SAS}SY is:

You do not always have to use a self-portrait to feature yourself or loved ones on a scrapbook page. Create a page about your favorite physical feature or personality trait or a personal habit and look for interesting ways to photograph it.

Here is my Layout
"So innocent"
I chose Edwards not so innocent, innocent smile look. He knows how to lay it on thick!

Check out these close ups!

Here I left it blank, just wanted something to pop the picture out the dark colors of the background.

I misted the bottom layer, inked the middle layer and then just added layers to make it a unique embellishment!

Here I used it to dress up the photo as a matt then embellished it with some flowers and fussy cutting!

Rockin' - {SAS}sy Croppy Cat Challenge

It's a new month so that means new Challenges over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking! This month we are lifting Cyndi so hop over to our Creative Gallery to check out all her great work you can Croppy Cat!!

Here is my layout:

Rockin'
Over Christmas the boys stayed the night for the very first time with Grandpa and Grandma Marda. Grandma Marda got to experience Edwards cuddly side which is a rare thing to see being as shy as he is. That morning he woke up to Grandama Marda in the rocking chair, quietly climbed in her lap and they rocked in what I like to call the silence of innocence. It takes you back to the time when they were but days old still as can be laying their wrapped up in your love.....I was so happy Grandma Marda was able to experience it!!! This picture was taken later in the day but it was the perfect photo for the story!

and here is Cyndi's fabulous layout that I Croppied!

Hope you enjoyed it and please stop by the {SAS}sy message board for some great Challenges and fun!
